The THR is the main training provider in Romania’s tourism and hospitality industry, with a long experience in adults’ professional training, with ISO 9001:2000 certification and over 20,000 learners in 10 years of activity.

The THR organizes:

• professional qualification courses for basic trades within the tourism and hospitality industry
• professional specialization courses meant for career development
• management courses for tourism activities meant for achieving the tourism licence
• 6-day tourism training programmes for employees
• intensive course programmes for foreign languages
• examination for achieving the certificate of tourism linguistic competence

The training courses and programmes  are carried out in compliance with the occupational standards, developing professional competences specific to the various trades within the tourism and hospitality industry necessary to ensure quality services, in accordance with the international standards. They are authorized and certified by the National Council for Adults’ Professional Training (CNFPA).

The qualification and graduation certificates, issued within the system for the adults’ professional training, are acknowledged on the national level.

The THR’s team of trainers has a vast teaching experience and a practical experience mainly, in the field, also transposed in the job-related manuals that form a rich and varied colection. Such collection of manuals assists the learners and is available to whom it may concern.

The activities of the THR are carried out at its headquarters in Bucureşti, at its Constanţa branch, in co-operation with partners in other localities or directly on the premises of tourism and travel agencies, on their request.

The THR’s infrastructure makes available to its learners a theoretical and practical training base, with simulation and practical training laboratories for the main trades within the tourism, hotel and food&beverage:

• classrooms equipped with a/v means
• IT laboratory
• professional practical training laboratories: restaurant-school, bar-school, kitchen-school (with 16 working posts), confectionery – pastry-school
• specialist library and reading room
• 420 seat theatre room, at its headquarters in Bucharest

The THR Constanţa has a training base formed of:

• 30 seat classrooms, provided with a wide range of equipment
• IT laboratory
• professional practical training laboratories for hotel, restaurant, bar, kitchen
• specialist library
• 80 seat theatre room 

The THR is an AEHT member school (AEHT=the European Association of Hotel and Tourism Schools headquartered in Luxembourg) and as the national representative  with the AEHT code RO 1, it is a member of the Executive Committee of the AEHT.

The THR is represented in the management team or in the specialist commissions of several tourism and hospitality professional associations.

The THR is drawing up a new offer of long-term courses in association with foreign  tourism schools with tradition.
